The DTECH DT-LC/SC 001 is a single-mode hybrid patch cord with an LC connector on one end and an SC connector on the other. It exists for one reason: not every link has the same connector on both sides. A media converter or older ONT with an SC port often has to talk to a switch or SFP transceiver with an LC port, and this cord makes that connection directly, without a separate coupler or adapter sitting in the middle of the link.
If both ends of your run are LC, use our LC to LC patch cord; if both ends are SC/UPC, use our SC/UPC to SC/UPC patch cord. This hybrid cord is for the specific case where one device is LC and the other is SC — common when pairing newer, high-density switch gear with older SC-terminated equipment during a phased upgrade. Using a matched-connector cord plus a separate LC-SC adapter works too, but it’s an extra failure point and a bit more insertion loss at the joint; this cord skips that step.
Both ferrules are ground on all four corners before assembly, keeping typical insertion loss at 0.20dB (0.30dB maximum) and return loss at 50dB or better — the same performance figures as our matched-connector cords, so mixing connector types costs nothing in signal quality.
Built on single-mode single-core fibre, this cord supports 1.25G, 10G, 25G, and 40G links. The bend-insensitive imported fibre core keeps loss stable even when routed through a crowded patch panel.
The 3.0mm outer jacket is LSZH (low smoke zero halogen), tested to IEC 60332-1-2 for flame retardance, GB/T 18380.12-2008, IEC 61034-2 for smoke density (86.4% light transmittance), and IEC 60754-1:2011 for halogen acid gas content — built for the same LSZH cabling standards as the rest of bam.ae’s fibre range.
An aramid-yarn strength member runs the length of the cord, and both connectors are tensile-tested to 70N without exceeding 0.3dB of added insertion loss over a one-hour hold. Dust caps ship on both ends. Nine length options, from 1m to 30m, are available — see our other Industrial Serial Product accessories for the testers and adapters to go with it.

Why would I need a cord with two different connectors? When the device on one end of your run has an SC port and the device on the other has an LC port — common when a newer switch or SFP transceiver has to link to an older SC-terminated ONT or media converter — this cord connects them directly, without a separate adapter in the middle.
Does mixing connector types affect performance? No. Both ends are grounded and tested to the same 0.20dB typical insertion loss and> 50 dB return loss as our matched-connector cords.
How is this different from your LC to LC or SC/UPC to SC/UPC cords? Same single-mode fiber, LSZH jacket, and optical performance — the only difference is that one end is LC and the other is SC, for linking equipment that doesn’t match.
Which end is which on the length variants? Each length (1m–30m) ships with LC on one end and SC on the other; confirm with your supplier which end goes to which device before ordering if it matters for your run.
