How the DT-7068 Wireless HDMI Extender Works

The transmitter unit connects to any HDMI source — a laptop, PC, Blu-ray player, streaming box, game console or DVR — and converts the signal into H.264-compressed IP data transmitted over WiFi. The receiver unit, placed near your display, decodes the stream back into HDMI and outputs it directly to a TV, projector or monitor. Signal reconnection after power cycling takes approximately 30 seconds; hot-plug detection for HDMI connections responds within 1 second.

Dual-Band WiFi for Different Environments

The 2.4G band penetrates walls and obstacles more effectively, making it the recommended choice for installations across multiple rooms or where partitions exist between transmitter and receiver. The 5.8G band offers a cleaner, less congested signal path in open-plan environments such as conference halls, training rooms and exhibition spaces. Both transmitter and receiver must be set to the same band — the selection is made via the physical switch on each unit.

One Transmitter, Up to 4 Displays

The DT-7068 supports both one-to-one and one-to-many configurations. A single transmitter can simultaneously feed up to 4 receivers, each connected to an independent display. This makes it suitable for training rooms where an instructor’s screen must appear on multiple student-facing displays, retail environments distributing signage content from a single media player, and hospitality or corporate AV setups requiring consistent multi-screen output without a dedicated splitter.

IR Remote Pass-Through

The built-in IR function is a practical feature that is often overlooked in wireless HDMI extender comparisons. The included IR transmitter and receiver cables allow you to point a remote control at the display end and have the IR signal forwarded back to the source device — useful when the transmitter and source are in a locked cabinet, equipment rack or separate room out of direct line-of-sight.

The DT-7068 has been tested against 36 devices including Sony, Samsung, LG, TCL, Toshiba, Sharp, Panasonic, Hisense and Changhong TVs; Acer projectors; ASUS monitors; PS4 game consoles; Apple TV; Mi Box; and Dahua DVR recorders — all delivering stable 1920×1080p@60Hz output. The unit underwent 72-hour continuous aging tests at 80°C and passed 20-cycle plug/unplug endurance testing on all ports. ESD protection is rated at ±8 kV.
