The DTECH DT-5044 4 port RS232 splitter lets one host control four serial devices from a single DB9 port. It’s the simple way to connect one PC, control processor or NVR to four displays, projectors, readers or controllers without adding interface cards, extra PCs or custom software. One DB9 female input feeds four DB9 male outputs, and the included 5V adapter keeps the signal stable across every port.
Most control and security equipment still uses RS-232, and most hosts have only one serial port. When four devices need the same commands, the usual fixes are expensive and slow to set up: extra controllers, USB-to-serial adapters on several PCs, or custom programming. This 4 port RS232 splitter handles it in hardware at the connector, so a single command reaches every device at once.
System integrators, AV installers, MEP contractors and facility management teams use a 1×4 serial splitter wherever one control source needs to reach several endpoints. Typical applications include:
| Brand / Model | DTECH DT-5044 |
| Type | 4 port RS232 splitter, 1×4 (1 input, 4 outputs) |
| Input | 1 x DB9 female (RS-232 serial) |
| Outputs | 4 x DB9 male (RS-232 serial) |
| Maximum data rate | 19.2 Kb/s |
| Default serial format | 9600 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit |
| Signal levels | MARK -3V to -15V, SPACE +3V to +15V |
| Communication distance | Approx. 15 m |
| Power | DC 5V, 1000mA (external adapter included) |
| Cascade | Supported |
| Dimensions | 218 x 82 x 38 mm |
| Weight | Approx. 420 g |
| In the box | 1 x splitter, 1 x power adapter, 1 x user manual |
The host sends to all four output ports at the same time. This suits broadcast-style control, such as powering on displays or switching inputs across a room. If your devices also report back, poll them one at a time rather than letting several reply at once. Most control processors do this by default. Keep cable runs within about 15 metres, and match the baud rate and data format on the host and every device. No. It’s a hardware device, so it works with any operating system or control platform and there’s nothing to install.
Yes. It runs on DC 5V, 1000mA, and the power adapter is included in the box.
The communication distance is generally around 15 metres. For best results, keep runs short and use good-quality shielded serial cable.
Yes. The DT-5044 supports cascading, so you can add a second splitter to reach more devices.
It supports data rates up to 19.2 Kb/s. Its default format is 9600 baud, 8N1, which most control equipment uses.
