The DTECH DT-7078 is a clean-install POC HDMI Extender 100m that carries Full HD 1080p@60Hz video and audio over a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable, with IR return and single-side power. POC — Power Over Cable — means only the transmitter requires a power adapter. The receiver draws power through the Cat5e/Cat6 cable itself, eliminating the need for a power outlet at the display end entirely. Transmitter and receiver included.
Standard HDMI extenders require a power adapter at both ends — one at the source, one at the display. This POC HDMI Extender 100m removes the receiver-side power requirement completely. Power travels to the receiver through the same Cat5e or Cat6 cable carrying the HDMI signal.
In practice, this means cleaner, faster, and more flexible installations:
Power Over Cable — Single-Side Power Only the transmitter needs a power adapter. This is the defining feature of the POC HDMI Extender 100m and the primary reason to choose it over a standard extender at the same range — especially in installations where running power to the display location is difficult or costly.
1080p@60Hz Full HD Delivers sharp, stable 1080p@60Hz video and audio across the full 100-metre run. Compatible with PC, laptop, NVR, DVR, set-top box, Blu-ray player, media player, and gaming consoles. Note: 1080i interlaced format is not supported.
IR Return Control The built-in IR return function lets you control the source device with a remote from the display end — useful when the source sits in a locked equipment room or AV rack.
Automatic Balancing System Monitors signal quality continuously and compensates for cable variation, keeping the picture smooth and stable throughout the full 100m run.
Built-In ESD Protection Electrostatic discharge protection extends the operational life of both units in professional AV, retail, and commercial environments where equipment is connected and reconnected frequently.
Cat5e and Cat6 Compatible Runs over standard Cat5e or Cat6 cabling already present in most UAE buildings. Cat6 is recommended for optimal performance at the full 100m distance.

What does POC mean on this extender? POC stands for Power Over Cable. On the DT-7078, the receiver draws its operating power from the Cat5e/Cat6 cable. You only plug in one power adapter — at the transmitter. Nothing is needed at the display or receiver end.
How does the DT-7078 compare to other 100m extenders? For 100m with full USB keyboard and mouse control, see the DTECH DT-7054A HDMI USB KVM Extender 100m at AED 330. For a shorter 60m run with IR return, the DTECH DT-7053MS HDMI Extender 60m at AED 185 is a leaner option. The DT-7078 is the right choice when 100m range, single-side power, and IR return are the priorities.
Does it work with Cat5e cable? Yes — both Cat5e and Cat6 work. For runs close to 100m, Cat6 gives the most reliable signal.
